What Should Be Avoided After a Threadlift Procedure?

After undergoing a thread lift, it is essential to follow specific guidelines to ensure optimal results and minimize the risk of complications. Here is a comprehensive list of post-treatment care tips:
- Minimize Facial Movements: For the first two weeks, limit facial movements as much as possible. This includes avoiding excessive talking, chewing gum, yawning widely, or laughing hard. These movements can strain the newly placed threads, potentially causing them to shift or break.
- Avoid Touching or Massaging Your Face: For the first five days, refrain from touching or massaging your face. Doing so can disrupt the threads’ healing process and increase the risk of displacement or infection.
- Makeup Application: Wait at least 24 hours before applying makeup. When you do, be gentle and avoid the entry and exit points of the threads to prevent irritation or infection.
- Exercise Caution: Avoid vigorous exercise for 2 weeks. Intense physical activity can lead to bruising, swelling, or thread shifting. Sweat can also introduce bacteria, increasing the risk of infection.
- Sleep Position: Avoid sleeping on your side or stomach for at least 5 days. It is best to sleep on your back with your head elevated to reduce swelling and ensure the threads remain in place.
- Skincare Products: For the first few weeks, avoid using skincare products with strong active ingredients. These products can irritate the treated areas and delay healing.
- Alcohol Consumption: Refrain from consuming alcohol for 3-5 days as it can thin the blood, leading to increased bruising and swelling and dehydrating the skin, impacting the healing process.
- Extreme Temperatures: Avoid exposing the treated area to extreme heat or cold for 2 weeks. This includes direct sun exposure, saunas, steam rooms, and placing ice packs directly on the skin, as these can impact swelling and potentially disrupt the integration of the threads in the tissue.
- Dental Procedures: Delay dental procedures for 3 weeks as prolonged mouth opening and strain can affect thread stability.
- Swimming: Avoid swimming in pools and hot tubs for 2 weeks as it may cause infections at the thread insertion sites.
- Close Contact: To reduce the risk of infection, limit close contact, such as hugging and kissing, for 3-5 days.
Following these guidelines can help ensure a smooth recovery and achieve the best possible results from your thread lift procedure.
